Why did you start up your business?

i would prefer it if your answers were sob stories like 'i lost control of my life' because that's what i need :/

t.hanksI started because I was sick of counting on hours and benefits that they couldn't keep me busy enough in hours to keep the benefits. Most full-time jobs in my field couldn't keep me busy full time after a couple months. (yes because I am both good and effective). In larger companies I ended up doing 3 peoples jobs for the same miserable 1 persons pay. In smaller companies I would pick up crap work to keep up hours until it gets all done and then my hours get cut anyways, by half or more.

Now I work for 6 small businesses, mostly from home and make the same money I used to in half the time or less. If I can't sleep I can work at 3 am (like tonight). If I want to take a class at noon, I can. If I want to take a weekday off, 90% of the time I don't have to let anyone know.
